Brand Overview

Peterbilt was founded in California in 1939 by T.A. Peterman.

Peterbilt trucks are primarily built in Denton, Texas, for the U.S. market. In Canada, production is centered at our facility in Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, while our Mexicali, Mexico plant also contributes to manufacturing. These locations produce a broad range of heavy-duty and medium-duty trucks, all engineered for superior quality and durability.

Peterbilt is owned by PACCAR Inc., a global leader in the design and manufacturing of high-quality commercial trucks. PACCAR acquired Peterbilt in 1958, and since then, Peterbilt has operated as a subsidiary, benefiting from PACCAR’s innovation and resources.
