PETERBILT HYBRID VEHICLES: RELIABLE, SUSTAINABLE TECHNOLOGY
Now, more Peterbilt Medium Duty Hybrid trucks are eligible for the maximum amount of available federal incentives.
Peterbilt model year 2008, 2009, and 2010 hybrids purchased in the United States are eligible to receive tax credits of up to $12,000 each from the federal government. The IRS lists the eligible models and incentive amounts on their website at IRS Qualified Heavy Hybrid Vehicles.
The maximum $12,000 credit for Class 7 hybrids is available for the Model 335 Hybrid Electric in both utility-boom and pickup and delivery applications when equipped with a PACCAR PX-6 engine and an Eaton hybrid system. The Model 335, equipped only as a tractor, may be eligible later this month for $9,000 in federal tax incentives. A $6,000 credit, the maximum for Class 6 hybrids, is available for the Model 330 Class 6 Hybrid Electric in utility-boom and pickup-and-delivery applications when equipped with a PACCAR PX-6 engine and an Eaton hybrid system.
We urge you to take advantage of these federally funded incentives, and to check with your local and state governments as well. Support for hybrid technology is growing, and we remain dedicated to creating sustainable technology for the future.
Be advised that the IRS has determined that certain hybrid motor vehicle applications, manufactured by Peterbilt Motors Company, may qualify for the Federal Heavy-Duty Hybrid Motor Vehicle Tax Credit. As of June 30, 2009, only 2008, 2009 and 2010 model year Model 330 and Model 335 Hybrids have been certified by the IRS for the tax credit. Peterbilt is in the process of obtaining certification for additional model year 2010 models.

We strongly encourage anyone wishing to purchase these eligible vehicle to thoroughly review the tax laws relating to the federal credits, and to consult a qualified tax professional or the IRS to fully understand their impact on your particular income tax filing.
