Recycling and Reducing, Responsibly

A company wide philosophy that ensures that Peterbilt continues to act in a way which promotes recycling and reduces pollution and waste is maintained by both our management and our employees.

Zero Waste to Landfill is just the start, our plan encompasses supplier chain management as well as changes in engineering, manufacturing, storage, processing and assembly to minimize the waste created.

Last year alone, our Denton Plant commuting program eliminated over 4.2 million pounds of CO2 from the atmosphere.

Innovation

Experimental fuel made from currently non-recycled materials such as cafeteria wastes, 387 adhesive, sealant tubes, etc. and other remaining items that are not recycled are diverted from landfill disposal into a program to produce cement kiln fuel.

We recycling all packaging materials, paper, cardboard, plastic, foam, wood, metal, and even wet wastes from our cafeteria, which power an anaerobic methane cell.

There are approximately 3.05 pounds of plastic tubing cut off and disposed per truck produced, and that equals approximately 23 tons of solid plastic waste recycled annually.
