Notice to Peterbilt/EPA DERA Grant Applicants

Responses to the EPA's Clean Diesel Program under the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) have been beyond expectations. Peterbilt Motors is very pleased to have been able to assist such a large number of customers in their applications for DERA grant funding.

If you submitted an application to us by our April 13, 2009 deadline, along with all of the requested information, then your application was forwarded to one of seven non-profit organizations (NPOs) to be included in their grant request. Completed grant requests were forwarded to the appropriate EPA regional office on or before their April 28, 2009 deadline.

At this point, the EPA is directly managing the final selection of replacement trucks, retrofit technology and no-idle equipment that will be chosen for funding. It is expected they will notify the NPO, who in turn will notify you, if you have been selected to receive a grant award. It’s our understanding this notification should occur sometime during June 2009.

The NPO will communicate to you via the address, telephone number, and/or email address you provided. Unfortunately, there is no process established for checking on the status of any particular application until the award notification is received. If your application has been selected for a grant, you will be given a period of time to decide whether or not you choose to accept the award. At that time, more information will be made available to you by the NPO and the EPA regarding the next steps.

Please note, our assistance in getting your application completed and forwarded to the correct agency, does not guarantee that any EPA DERA awards will be issued to your company. Nor does it affect any pricing negotiated between you and the dealer, or influence the final terms and conditions of the grant, or the amount of funding, if any, awarded by the NPO and/or the EPA.
