Peterbilt takes a holistic view of recycling and waste reduction. We have programs in all of our locations in North America to facilitate the recycling of materials, diverting over thousands of pounds of waste from landfills. Our latest initiative involves converting paint sludge waste into energy.

By year end 2009 we achieved:

• Diversion of 100% of solid waste from land fill disposal
• Remove all non-recycled materials from general plant waste stream
• Expanded office paper recycling for all plant offices
• Recycling wet wastes from the cafeteria in an anaerobic cell
• Implemented a program to convert paint sludge from waste to energy
