This technology uses a low cost, cleaner-burning fuel than diesel with no compromises on engine torque, power, fuel economy, or drivability, in addition to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 25 percent. Peterbilt’s Model 386 LNG is also available the with Westport GX engine, and is an excellent option for line-haul, tanker and bulk fleets.
Heckmann Corporation is a water solutions company focused on water issues in oil and shale gas exploration and production. The company will use the trucks to service its customers’ natural gas wells and provide water handling services in conjunction with its system of pipelines and disposal wells.
“We are dedicated to engaging in innovative solutions that lower our carbon footprint, and these natural gas vehicles provide that in addition to significant cost savings and optimal performance,” said Richard J. Heckmann, Chairman and CEO of Heckmann Corporation. “We are proud to be the first oil and natural gas services provider to offer LNG trucks to our clients and to operate the largest fleet of LNG trucks in North America. We encourage other companies to participate in these affordable, environmentally friendly opportunities as well.”
