Denton, TX (December 17, 2010)
Peterbilt Motors Company announced a $269,814 donation to the United Way of Denton County's 2010 fundraising campaign. Peterbilt's employees raised $159,814, and Peterbilt's parent company PACCAR contributed an additional $110,000 in support of Peterbilt's efforts. The donation was presented to the 2010 United Way Campaign Chairman on Thursday, December 16th at Peterbilt's Truck Plant in Denton, Texas.
"Peterbilt and our employees are dedicated to helping improve the lives of friends, neighbors and those in our community who need our help," says Bill Jackson, Peterbilt general manager and PACCAR vice president. "Together, with the generous contributions of our employees and the partnership with United Way of Denton County, we can make a difference in building a stronger community not only for today, but for future generations to come."
Peterbilt is the United Way of Denton County's largest corporate contributor, having donated almost a total of four million dollars over the past 10 years.
"The leadership and employees of Peterbilt have identified that the United Way of Denton County leads the way in providing services and assistance in our community," says Todd Price, the 2010-2011 United Way of Denton County Board Chair. "As we are focused on improving the areas of Education, Income and Health, their increased support this year is a testament of the difference United Way is making in our community."
The United Way of Denton County serves as a catalyst to facilitate the organized efforts of the community to identify and address the existing and emerging needs of its people through three targeted areas – a quality education that leads to a stable job; income that can support a family through retirement; and good health. Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED.
"Peterbilt is an outstanding corporate citizen in our community and truly shows that they LIVE UNITED. We are certainly blessed to have them as a part of our community," says Price. "Their continued support of United Way is instrumental to the success of the programs and assistance initiatives that we are able to provide. Without their support, we would not be able to serve a large portion of our population's needs."
